Okay, so shoot me for having a corny title for this entry.
Since it was New Year's, we went to two Shinto shrines to get blessed. My forture says this year will be very good, so it's very promising.
Family and I saw "Memoirs of a Geisha". It's fairly good but read the book first (which I didn't).
I am rather urked by the fact some of cast were done by Chinese actoresses instead of Japanese ones. Remember, Japan and China have rather strained relationships since WWII. Many Chinese are boycotting the movie and I don't blame them. But many Japanese actresses didn't want the part because they were afraid of their English-speaking ability or wanted no part of it. What I will say is that I am impressed with how well the actresses did the dance routines and learn how to be a geisha. Trust me, it's really difficult.
