Back in Oregon
Well folks, I'm back up on the mainland. It's kinda nice to be back.
The plane ride was rather nice, since I managed to convince to switch seats with another person so I could sit next to Telleh (my roommate/crazy-ass "sister I never had"). So I was nicely updated on what was going on and met the new people that started to hang out with us.
I'm living in the student apartment now, so my room is a lot smaller that what I'm used to. I asked to have my bed raised so I can put my drawer underneath my bed to save space. I maybe a small person, but I do like to have some walking space. While I was unpacking stuff under storage, I managed to dedicate a good portion of my old clothes and will take to the Goodwill nearby. We haven't done too much food shopping, just all the other essentials.
Now I got four classes total and they look good so far. I'm not exactly thrilled at the fact I gotta start my Senior project already. From the looks of things, I might do mine on shamisen, which includes the basics like use in traditional music and the rise of tsugaru-style shamisen with people like the Yoshida Brothers, etc. Best part? It's gotta be around 20 pages in JAPANESE. SO MUCH FUN. :D
At least the senior capstone class is once a week, so I can focus more on my "Writing Fiction" and Japanese 485 class. I'm so happy that the one person I really don't want to deal with is not in my class.
Been also catching up with some anime. Just finished Sengoku Basara and now working on 07-Ghost. Will probably go back to watching Keroro Gunso once I catch up with that.
My friend Eddie convinced to try and figure out how to play the shamisen parts of "Change" (a collab between Monkey Majik and Yoshida Brothers). I gotta contact my friend to see if he learned anything about Tsugaru style. But still, I'm sad no one has the shamisen tabs for it. DX
Oh and I managed to start my WiiFit profile. I'm gonna try to be more active this year and lose some weight. I'm so fail with my balance and everything.
